I have many talents, some of which you’ll find out here soon enough. One of the talents I’m not blessed with, however, is drawing. So I’d like some help from you fine fans/readers/artistes.
I need a logo for this blog, in high-resolution (at least 300dpi at 2400px square). The final logo files from the winner should preferably be provided in Adobe Illustrator CS5 format, so that I can use the art in various ways. The art will be fully and exclusively copyrighted by me for use anywhere (and everywhere, most likely).
I like clean lines, and I’m something of a minimalist, but I’m open to new possibilities. The logo should reflect something about writing, books, etc – though again, I’m open to interesting ideas. Oh, and my favorite color is blue, if that matters.
Contest entries will be posted in groups (if I get that many), and there will be a final winner as well as two runners-up. Finalists will be chosen by popular acclaim from this blog, my Facebook Page, and my Twitter account. The final winner will be my favorite of the finalist entries.
Okay, now to the good part:
The winner will get a free hardcover copy of the entire The Dying of the Light series, including the as-yet-to-be-written final book, Beginning, and the short story anthology The Walker Chronicles. They will also get a cameo in the book, if desired. This is a walk-on role, with a few lines. Runners-up will get their names (or a name of their choosing, as long as it’s not someone else’s real name – no killing off the exes third-hand, sorry) in the third book as well as a trade paperback copy of the first book in the series.
To enter the contest, email me with your name and logo entry (a 72dpi .png or .jpg is fine for entries).
Good luck!
Though it may be something you already know, there are excellent ways to run such selections with the help and use of that creative foundry, DeviantArt.com
It’s amazing what some authors manage to find there for collaboration, covers, story art and more.
Thanks, Mack! Great idea.
I’d LOVE to help you out Jason. Unfortunately, I have trouble drawing a straight line. lol
