|Genesis of Creation: Where We Get Our Ideas||Sunday, May 25 10AM – 12PM||352B||Panel Rm 23||Jason Kristopher,George Wright Padgett, Shannon Winton, Dominick D’Aunno|
|A group of young writers will provide guidance on the how-to’s of idea generation. Starting with theory, this workshop leads the audience from learning ways a writer can find inspiration to a hands-on portion where the audience will submit a piece for panelists to create an on-the-spot story.|
If you can only attend one of my panels, I highly recommend that you make it to Genesis of Creation: Where We Get Our Ideas. It was a favorite for many who attended last year, and it’s a lot of fun for the authors who step up. I’ll go over it more in a separate post later this week, but essentially, you give each of our panelists a random object, and we come up with a story right then and there about the object. This year, depending on attendance, we’re going to break out into teams, with each team coming up with a group story about an object, and then having a winner and runner-up for the best team story. Some fabulous prizes are being donated by Grey Gecko Press, as well (more on that later, too!).
I’ll also be walking around the floor each day, talking to vendors, friends, and fans alike. I’m looking forward to getting to attend several panels, as well as see some of the shows, acts, and other performances I usually miss out on. If you happen to see me walking by, please feel free to stop me for an autograph, a chat, a hello, or even a “I liked your book SO much!” (those are always nice to hear). If I can spend even a few moments with you, I will.
I look forward to seeing everyone this weekend at my favorite convention of the year!
